Sublimation paper need be printed by sublimation printer. The regular brands like Epson, Sawgrass are okay. Sublimation process can transfer light polyester fabric. For heat transfer process, what you need to prepare is decided by what kind of heat transfer paper you need. If you use inkjet heat transfer paper, you will need prepare inkjet printer like Epson, HP brand and so on. If you use laser heat transfer paper, you will need prepare laser printer like HP, Canon and so on. Other things you need to prepare are like inkjet/laser heat transfer paper, pigment/dye ink, light or dark cotton fabric. Just choose different printer as per the paper type you use. Heat transfer paper has inkjet and laser type and also light and dark type for different colors fabric. It is used to transfer on cotton fabric. For the operation, you can also print your image on the heat transfer paper by laser or inkjet printer. And then heat transfer it on the cotton fabric using a flat press.

If you want to transfer your shirt by DTF or DTG process, you will need buy DTF or DTG printer. They are different with the normal printer. DTF process need DTF printer. It is modified printer by Epson normal printer. DTG process need DTG printer.
